Building X11 28 Sep 2026

X11 went quiet. Here's what we're building now.

The blog stopped in 2025. X11 has changed since then, and it is time to show the work again.

The last post on this blog was in August 2025. If you checked in after that and thought X11 had gone into shadow mode, fair enough. A silent blog is a poor way to show that something is alive.

I’m bringing it back because the product is becoming clearer. The early pitch was close to “talk to an AI and get posts.” That can be useful, but it leaves out the difficult part: deciding which ideas deserve a post in the first place. A polished sentence can still be empty.

That is the work we are doing now. Creator Chat helps turn a voice memo, a rough sentence, or a page you are reading into a few editable takes. Inspiration surfaces posts that have travelled unusually far. Slop Cannon looks for possible stories, then tries to reject thin ones before they reach your queue. Circle is for a different habit: noticing people you already have a relationship with and replying with some intention.

These pieces do not all have the same job. One starts with your own thought. One helps you find a spark. One scans the outside world. One reminds you that posting is only half of being social. They should meet at the same standard: you should know why a draft exists, be able to change it, and decide whether it goes out.

Some parts are still rough. A recent Slop Cannon sweep scanned more than 150 posts and saved no stories. Rejecting weak material is good; an empty queue can also mean we have made the filter too blunt. We’re checking that in live runs, not calling it a win because the code deployed. I’ll write about what we learn.

The blog will follow the product at that level of detail. What shipped, what broke, what felt useful, and what we changed. There are more things to cover — the extension, scoring, and how idea sources connect — but this is the place to start.

If you’ve been away for a while, welcome back. If you never left, thanks for sticking around while the lights looked off.
